Being a software solution, CodecWorks Encoder can be easily tailored to customer's needs by selecting the desired set of codecs and plugins for a variety of input and output boards. Supporting MPEG-2 and AVC/H.264 formats, CodecWorks Encoder delivers the possible quality and guaranteed interoperability with standard software and hardware players and Set-Top Boxes. Output video resolutions can vary from QCIF to full HD 1080i/p.
The latest version provides superior quality and robustness by leveraging NVIDIA CUDA technology that opens new possibilities for graphical processor optimization, and the Elecard ClearWork DirectShow filter’s denoise feature. A stylish new graphical interface makes the product enjoyable to use, while SNMP protocol support enables product status tracking.
In version 3.2 the encoding latency is decreased, and the ad insertion mechanism is improved. The operator does not have to change any profile settings to define where and how an ad will be shown. Also added is the ability to place Teletext subtitles on video during transcoding. Operators experiencing occasional signal loss in one or more channels might be glad to know that CodecWorks Encoder automatically handles such situations keeping the transmission running.
CodecWorks Encoders have been succesfully utilized as head-end transcoding servers for IPTV as well as DVB-T/C/H/S broadcasting. The 2009 Eurovision song contest was transmitted throughout Estonia in HD quality with the use of CodecWorks AVC Encoder.
