Bend, OR, USA, June 14, 2010 (PRESSbooth.ORG) -- The Bend Foundation Board of Trustees met last week in Bend, Oregon and unanimously approved a $100,000 contribution to be divided among several core social service agencies that have a significant impact on the health and well-being of the Central Oregon community.

The agencies receiving funds from the donation include Arts Central, Bend's Community Center, Boys & Girls Clubs, Crook County Foundation, Family Kitchen, Family Resource Center, KIDS Center, MountainStar Family Relief Nursery, Saving Grace, Tower Theatre Foundation and Volunteers in Medicine.

Vicki Ertle, executive director for the Family Resource Center in Bend, said, “We work hard to strengthen and support family relationships in the region in order to ensure a safe and positive future for our children, youth and our community. Receiving financial support from organizations like the Bend Foundation and Brooks Resources allows us to continue serving Deschutes County parents with vital education, information and resources. We are so grateful to receive funds that will help to underwrite our parent education resources.”
