Gautam Rajadhyaksha, is known to breathe life into portraits with his unmatched skills as a lensman. Famous for his glamour photography, Rajadhyaksha recently launched his coffee table book, ‘Chehre’, amidst glitz and glamour at the JW Marriott in Mumbai.
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, July 9, 2010 (PRESSbooth.ORG) -- The book was launched by ‘The Nightingale of India’ – Lata Mangeshkar, who went down memory lane and spoke of her love for photography. The event was well attended by leading ladies of Bollywood from last few decades. The dignitaries present included Actresses Hema Malini, Rekha, Jaya Bachchan, Padmini Kolhapure, Kajol, Asha Bhonsle, Sooraj Barjatya and Khayyam.
‘Chehre’ is in Marathi which comes after Rajadhyaksh’s book in English, ‘Faces’ which was launched in 1997. ‘Chehre’ features Rajadhyaksha’s work as a fashion photographer spanning three decades, during which he photographed almost every icon of the Hindi film industry. Speaking at the launch about beautiful faces of Bollywood, he said that the book had the maximum number of photos of Madhuri Dixit with whom he had worked for fourteen years. He also added that it was a pleasure to capture Rekha’s splendour, her timeless beauty and grace in his lenses and that she was one of his favourite faces for over thirty years. Rajadhyaksha worked with a leading ad company, before he took up his passion of glamour photography as a full time career.
