San Diego, CA, USA, July 12, 2010 (PRESSbooth.ORG) -- The San Diego Fine Art Society (SDFAS) announces the First Annual Art Awards, a celebration of select individuals, exhibitions, and projects that have made a significant impact on the field of contemporary art during the past year.
The SDFAS Art Awards will be held on September 2, 2010 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. This exciting evening will include the much anticipated announcements of the Art Awards, amazing art, exquisite cuisine, opportunity drawings and live entertainment, and all for a spectacular cause - honoring and supporting the arts in San Diego!
SDFAS invites San Diegans to vote for the nominees by visiting http://www.artpulse.tv/vote. The winners will be announced at the Art Awards Dinner during the VIP Opening Night of Art San Diego Contemporary Art Fair 2010. The nominees include:
Exhibition of the Year – Museum: A museum exhibition that generated excitement and delight, elevating our thinking and appreciation of art.

SDFAS will also host Launch Pad, an exclusive reception to launch graduating artist Duke Windsor, of the Artist Mentor Program, into the next phase of his career on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Art San Diego.
