With the anniversary of former Republican presidential hopeful Sen. George Allen’s infamous reference to an Indian American as a "macaca" on Monday, award-winning actor Kal Penn will hold a house party in Northern Virginia with Asian American leaders and activists to discuss the importance of their involvement in this year's presidential election.

Arlington, VA, USA, August 11, 2008 (PRESSbooth.ORG) -- Outrage among Asian Americans from Sen. Allen’s comments helped propel Democrat Sen. Jim Webb’s come-from-behind victory, where he won by only 7,231 votes. Penn, who stars in “The Namesake,” the “Harold and Kumar” movies as well as the TV series “House,” is campaigning across the country for Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign.
