Many of the big names in ecommerce are using online video to enhance the customer experience on their websites. In a new business TV show, ecommerce expert Rick Wilson explains how incorporating online video into your internet strategy can bring massive benefits.
England, UK, March 6, 2009 (PRESSbooth.ORG) -- Online businesses of all sizes can learn a lot by watching those at the top of the game. According to internet expert Rick Wilson, from Miva Merchant, borrowing a few ideas from ecommerce giant Amazon will improve your internet strategy and boost your sales.
In his sales advice given in a new show on yourBusinessChannel, Wilson explains how Amazon use online video to give customers a rich experience. And there is no reason that you shouldn’t employ this internet strategy on your own ecommerce site too, he says.
Wilson backs his sales advice by exploring some of Amazon’s successful techniques. Amazon use movie trailers to support their DVD sales, videos of products in use, and video reviews of products. Amazon can link online videos to almost any product, and it won’t be difficult to merge online video into your internet strategy either.
Of course, with any addition to your site, you really need to consider the cost. However, the benefit online video has in an internet strategy justifies the cost involved.
This is partly because the cost to put videos on your site is relatively low. Movie trailers, for example, are quick and easy to import into your internet strategy. Wilson, in his sales advice, suggests buying camera equipment and making shows of your own.
Wilson is quick to point out that the cost of video equipment and video software is relatively low nowadays, which makes it even easier for businesses to use this sales advice and support their internet strategy with self-produced videos.
