Antivirus technology which is the base of security products TrustPort PC Security and TrustPort Antivirus is regularly subject to independent comparative tests from Virus Bulletin magazine and the AV-Comparatives association. Results in these tests show that in many aspects TrustPort software belongs to the very best in the world.
March 16, 2009 (PRESSbooth.ORG) -- This year TrustPort PC Security was included in a further test which has a global impact, and which was conducted by PC Security Labs. Competing against twelve other security products, TrustPort performed extremely well and was awarded with a five star PC Security Labs Excellent rating.
Released at the end of February, the final report of this test contains the methods of assessment; the results of individual products are also listed. The benchmark of the software was based on the results taken from both static and dynamic testing, but also from the number of false positives.
Over two thousand malware samples have been used for the testing, which mainly included Trojans, but also backdoors, worms and viruses. TrustPort PC Security achieved an excellent overall detection ratio of 99.16%, which ranked it amongst the six best software solutions in the test. The product once again proved that the combination of multiple scanning engines reduces the risk of infection to almost zero.
While Virus Bulletin is based in United Kingdom, and AV-Comparatives in Austria, PC Security Labs originates in China, and the successful participation in this test further extended TrustPort’s existing awards. In addition, it allowed TrustPort to be compared to products that in America and Europe are virtually absent but have a strong position in Asia.
TrustPort PC Security also appeared in the February security package comparative tests conducted by the Finnish magazine MikroPC. Author of the test awarded TrustPort with four stars out of five possible. TrustPort’s flagship product stood out mainly due to its performance in detection, where it was able to eliminate 99.0% malicious codes, making it the second best tested software.
Author Tommi Vänninen referred to TrustPort PC Security as one of the most interesting products tested. In particular he highlighted the inclusion of encryption functions, and the combination of multiple scanning engines, together with the favorable price compared to competing software products. Czech based security package was recommended as the product with the best ratio of price and quality.
