Short Term Investment in Stocks is Risky

Management - HR- V Capital - Financedaytrading writes

Stock market returns are for long term investment and in good stocks. Investment in stock market should be for long term period to get good returns. Short term investment in stocks may prove risky but investment in stocks for long term may beat all other investments.

June 18, 2008 (PRESSbooth.ORG) -- Investment in stock market should be for long term period to get good returns.

Due to countless factors it is very difficult to judge the market for short term like say 1 to 6 months or could be till 9 months.

Lots of external factors are involved for day to day's market's volatility due to which it becomes difficult to judge and get good returns in short span of time.

And also at the same time the company's performance can be analyzed at their annual results (though it is necessary to keep watch on quarterly results)

Short term returns are mostly based on news or speculation etc which may be risky because you don't know how the market or particular stock if going to react to that news or speculation. The stock or market may react either positive or negative.

For example – Take over of a company may be considered as positive by some people as it may gives opportunity to explore new products or new geographical locations but at the same time some people may consider it as negative as it may put extra burden on the companies balance sheet to raise money to take over or may be considered as expensive deal for short team.

So to avoid the lackluster of such consequences some people choose to invest for long term and get rid of current market volatilities and worries.

Safe returns from long term investments - You would also get safe returns from fixed deposits from banks, post office and other bonds, saving schemes from government etc and the returns would be safe, secure and risk free but returns will be low as compared to stock market returns but it also important that how and in what stocks you invest and for what duration.

In fact stock market returns are for long term investment and in good stocks (good stocks may be either growth oriented or under valued stocks).

In long term your investment is safe as compared to short term. In long term you may also get benefited from dividend payouts if your invested company declares dividend.
