Media are invited to attend a seminar for businesses entitled “Destination Greenwich” on Monday 18 August 2008, 1600 - 1830hrs (Beijing Time) at London House, Shi Cha Hai Club, No.49, Di'an Men West, Xi Cheng District, Beijing, China.
Beijing, China, August 15, 2008 (PRESSbooth.ORG) -- Some of China’s most prestigious educational institutions will be represented at the seminar, which is also expected to attract a wide range of Chinese businesses. There will be a strong representation from the cultural and creative industries, keen to find out more about the opportunities to invest in the cultural and creative hub which is developing at Greenwich Peninsula, alongside The O2 Arena, the world’s most successful music and entertainment venue.
Greenwich is a Host Borough for the 2012 London Games and the seminar will give businesses a chance to find out more about the investment opportunities in the borough of Greenwich which is:
* a World Heritage Site attracting nine million visitors a year * home to a fast-growing cultural and creative industries sector * home to The O2, the world’s most successful music and entertainment venue * undergoing a massive programme of regeneration, with two million square feet of office space under construction at Greenwich Peninsula * 20 minutes from central London, with fast connections by river, train and light rail.
The seminar takes place on the final day of a five-day exhibition at Longtanhu Park which is promoting Greenwich as a world-class destination for visitors, students and businesses.
The exhibition - organised by Greenwich Council along with businesses and educational institutions based in Greenwich - is jointly hosted by the People’s Government of Chongwen District.
It coincides with the launch of a dedicated website www.destinationgreenwich.com

5. Greenwich Council and Chongwen District signed a Friendship and Cooperation Memorandum in November 2007, committing both districts to work together in developing business, tourism, educational, sports and cultural projects.
