    I read this book when first approaching to photography and I found it perfect to get from a beginner to a semi-professional level. As you go through chapters in fact, difficulty increases. The book is really practical and clearly written. It is plenty of explanatory images and real world pictures as examples for the theory inside. It collects many many tricks, techniques (i.e. 3D photography, HDR) but also author advices, those of the kind very hard to find online. Focus is on Digital Cameras, according to the philosophy of first learning the tools to be always able to shoot whatever creativity may suggest you. The camera should be a mean and should not get in the way between you and the image in your mind. After reading this book, I knew everything that I could learn in any photography course and only felt the urge of getting outside to try things out.

    I wish to congratulate with the author for this book so simple, clear and complete in details that is suitable for beginners and amateurs. I was an amateur photographer when I was twenty and I had got an analogical camera. After marriage I’ve been taking just souvenir pictures for other 20 years and now reading this book I’ve started again my interest in digital photography. Thanks Andrea.
