Germany's most successful private radio station was particularly impressed by phion's integrated high availability functions and the unique management concept.
Antenne Bayern has an audience of over three million every day and this committed band of listeners not only expects the station to broadcast continually, but also for its IT system to operate without interruption 24/7. As a result, general availability of web access, e-mail and radio streaming is a high priority for the station. The old security infrastructure was not able to meet these requirements and it also needed a great deal of management, particularly when it came to integrating Antenne Bayern's correspondent offices distributed all across Bavaria.
phion impresses with its high availability and management As a result of this situation, the station decided to switch its firewall and high availability (HA) infrastructure to a new portable basis. At its main office in Ismaning near Munich, Antenne Bayern now uses phion netfence via a high availability solution which is completely state of the art and continually synchronises existing sessions between the HA partners. phion's management concept has also already demonstrated its strengths in its deployment across the company.
As no work needed to be carried out on site at the correspondent offices, the actual rollout only took one day. This also allowed special requirements, such as the multicast protocol, which is important to Antenne Bayern, to be implemented in the shortest time possible.
