Reliance Fresh has topped the list of retail brands in Brand Equity's "Most Trusted Brands 2008" Survey. The survey conducted by Brand Equity (The Economic Times, 11 June 2008) is a reflection of consumer trust and places Reliance Fresh at the top of the heap.
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, June 18, 2008 (PRESSbooth.ORG) -- Reliance 'Fresh,' is comparatively a new venture in the orgainsed retail sector and has completed only 17 months in this competitive arena. Yet today Reliance Fresh is at the top. Reliance does its retail business across 12 formats, out of which the neighbourhood, convenience format of 'Fresh' could easily be considered as its flagship format. Reliance currently operates more than 600 stores of 'Fresh' Stores across the country.
The achievement becomes even more significant in that it has earned the top honours and the trust of consumers in its first year of operations itself, displacing older and established brands in the retail space. Commenting on this proud achievement Mr. Gunender Kapur- President and Chief Executive Food Business Reliance Fresh, said "We are very happy to receive this recognition and this gives us an impetus to serve our consumer even better" The "Most trusted Brands Survey" intends to analyse the dynamic market environment which questions on business activities and their impact on brands, both Indian and Multinational, and the recall that brands enjoy in an increasingly cluttered mindspace. They are not just the brands that are most familiar but those that consumers believe provide quality and reassurance.
This survey aimed to identify the brands that bond the best with consumers. The survey conducted by research agency AC Neilson ORG-MARG was the largest of its kind in India, with a sample of over 8,000 spread over socio-economic class, age, income and geography. To win the top slot was no mean feat as it competed with a host of eligible brands which were years older to Reliance Fresh. To qualify and win the top honour under such rigorous and exhaustive parameters is a great achievement for Reliance Fresh.
