Journalism - Research - White Papersnewsprovider writes
OnExamination's UKCAT practice course offers July discount. Online course helps pupils get into medical school.

Cardiff, UK, July 11, 2008 (PRESSbooth.ORG) -- OnExamination, part of the BMJ group, announced a July special offer to schools, which will allow their sixth formers interested in attending medical school access to its online UKCAT practice resource. The online practice resource is designed to familiarise medical school candidates with the question types and exam techniques required to excel on the UKCAT exam.

Intended to encourage aspiring medics to prepare for the important entrance exam during the summer holidays, OnExamination is offering schools a 25% discount, which allows their students access to a UKCAT Practice programme that normally retails at £35 for one month and £50 for three months.

UKCAT Practice provides medical and dental school candidates with six practice papers comprising over 200 questions. It aims to support candidates in familiarising themselves with the question categories of verbal reasoning, abstract reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and decision analysis and offers them the opportunity to perfect their UKCAT exam technique. Immediate performance analysis and feedback is given to the candidate, ranking them against their peers.

UKCAT testing begins on 7th July 2008 for students entering medical school in 2009. In 2007 UK medical schools received 73,274 applications but only 7,837 were accepted.* Candidates taking UKCAT can only sit the exam once in 2008, making their time spent practising for the test advantageous.

The resource provides:
• Opportunity to practice their UKCAT exam technique
• 6 practice papers comprising of over 200 questions in total
• Performance analysis and feedback with ranking against peers
• Familiarity with questions categories
• Advice on how to answer questions

OnExamination, the leading online provider of exam preparation material for doctors in the UK, is currently working with schools in the UK to allow them to use the resource in a classroom lesson as well as by supporting individual practice by pupils in their own time. OnExamination.com/UKCAT also provides teachers with a useful resource pack.

OnExamination is a subsidiary of the BMJ Group and part of the British Medical Association.
