Floor Heating - Online Electric Underfloor Heating

Technology - Electronics - HardwarePaulShort writes
Floor Heating Ltd., a leading UK provider of underfloor heating systems, has developed a vastly improved brand of electric underfloor mats based on its years of experience with private and corporate customers.

UK, August 5, 2008 (PRESSbooth.ORG) -- Floor Heating Ltd., a leading UK provider of underfloor heating systems, has developed a vastly improved brand of electric underfloor mats based on its years of experience with private and corporate customers.

The company announced that as of last month it will no longer purchase its retail underfloor heating cables and mats from a third party supplier, and will henceforth produce and sell only its new improved, under floor heating products.

What that means for customers, said Paul Short of Floor Heating Ltd., is that they will be buying a "better quality product, at a lower price, delivered on a next day basis to virtually anywhere within the UK mainland."

Sold under the brand Cablewarm®, the new Floor Heating Ltd. underfloor heating mats are arguably now superior to the competition in both technical specification and construction; but more importantly, offer better value for money to the consumer.

The heating cables are constructed of a twin conductor, multi-stranded copper wire with a protective outer insulation of PTFE (260°C high melt point).

The cables are taped with a high-tensile film to prevent them from being flattened when walked over, thereby maintaining uniform conformity and long-term optimum performance.

For increased safety, Floor Heating Ltd. has also opted for the more expensive, copper earth braid rather than cheaper aluminium braiding in its heating cables, noting that the former is far more effective as an earth conductor.

The protective, outer jacket of the heating cables in the new mats have a high melt point PVC of 105 degrees Celsius, whereas the majority of heating mats sold by other UK suppliers typically have a standard PVC outer jacket with a much lower melt point of 80 degrees Celsius.

Another small, but nevertheless crucial difference that Paul Short pointed out was that typically other underfloor heating mats only have three pieces of double sided tape securing them to the sub-floor or insulation layer. This often results in parts of the heating mat rising to the surface when pouring a levelling compound. By adding an extra fourth piece of tape, Floor Heating Ltd. is able to guarantee that their mats will remain properly buried.

Paul Short explained that his company's product is the result of "18 months of extensive research and development with various international electric heating cable manufacturing companies," and as such represents a major leap in quality without sacrificing on affordability. In fact, as Paul Short noted, the Cablewarm® brand may actually now beat the competition in price since customers are buying direct from the manufacturer.

Electric underfloor heating is fast becoming a popular replacement for more traditional temperature control systems, such as radiators and central heating and air conditioning units. Compared to the standard alternatives, electric underfloor heating offers a 15 percent reduction in energy costs and ensures an even distribution of heat in the home or work place.
