The Samsung Soul range of mobile phones has just expanded to include the new Samsung U800 otherwise known a the Soul B, we review this new handsets features, technology and design and explain the benefits of this latest network launch.
Ipswich, Suffolk, UK, August 13, 2008 (PRESSbooth.ORG) -- Riding on the success of the extremely popular U900 Soul, Samsung have launched a new version of this high tech handset called the Samsung U800. This new phone is also known as the Soul b which refers to its model clas within the manufacturers range.
This biggest difference between the U800 and the U900 is that the new model is a candy-bar format phone, that means no slide or flip to contend with, infact the Samsung U800 looks very similar to the popular Nokia 6500 Classic with a very slim design and similar key layout.
With even smaller dimensions than the original U900 Soul, the Samsung U800 Soul b shows off its ultra slim candybar design with a brushed metal case.
The third addition to the Soul family and bearing a slighly different naming convention, the Samsung U800 Soul 'b' offers 1GB of shared memory which is expandable, along with a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera that boasts a built-in LED flash and video recording capabilities plus a secondary videocall camera.
Having mentioned the video calling capabilities it goes without saying that the Samsung U800 includes 3G HSDPA connectivity in addition to the Tri Band GSM with GPRS support and EDGE technology, other connectivity options include USB connectivity and bluetooth wireless.
Getting back to multimedia functionality, the Samsung U800 Soul b is also equipped with a music player that offers support for multiple audio file formats and the FM radio comes with RDS support.
Even though the Samsung U800 Soul b boasts super slim dimensions, the screen measures 2" with a display in 16 million colours.
But not content with stopping there, the Samsung U800 Soul b's phonebook will hold contact details for as many as 1000 entries and the phone comes preloaded with an Office document viewer or top of the standard web browser, SMS, MMS, EMS and Email features.
The Samsung U800 no doubt pays homage to the U900 Soul and comes with many of the features of that of its older sibling, but its differing aesthetic design should see it appeal to a whole new market and hopefully make it just as successful.
Initially released on the Orange network in the UK the Samsung U800 Soul b is expected to be rolled out onto further networks as the limited time exclusive launch comes to an end. There is also a pink edition planned fro this new model with £10 of every purchase going to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Charity.
